Privacy Policy
Sepia Software LLC · Last updated 2 August 2026
This policy describes how Sepia Software LLC (“Sepia Software”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information in our iPhone and iPad apps and on this website. “You” means anyone who uses them.
It applies to every app we publish on the App Store. An individual app may collect less than what is described here, but never more.
Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Your email address, if you contact us or choose to provide one in an app
- The contents of any support message you send us
- Preferences you set, such as content interests or notification settings
Information collected automatically:
- Device information — device model, operating system version, language, region and app version
- Usage activity — which screens you open, which features you use, and how long you use an app
- Diagnostic data — crash reports and performance data
- Approximate location derived from your IP address. We do not collect precise location unless an app asks your permission and you grant it
- Advertising and device identifiers, where you have permitted tracking
How we use it
- To provide, operate and maintain the apps
- To deliver features you request, including subscription entitlements
- To diagnose crashes and fix bugs
- To understand which features are used, so we can improve them
- To send push notifications you have opted into. You can turn these off at any time in iOS Settings or within the app
- To display advertising in our free apps, including personalised advertising where you have permitted it
- To respond to your support requests
- To comply with our legal obligations
Service providers we use
We use the third-party services listed below. Each receives only the data it needs to perform its function for us, and each is required by contract to protect your data to a standard equal to or stronger than the one described in this policy.
- Google Firebase — usage analytics, crash reporting, push delivery and remote configuration
- Google AdMob — advertising in our free apps
- OneSignal — push notification delivery
- RevenueCat — subscription status management
- Branch — deep links and install attribution
- Flurry — usage analytics in some of our older apps
- Apple — App Store purchases, subscription billing and receipt validation
These companies process data under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Advertising and tracking
Several of our apps are free and supported by advertising. Ad networks may use device and advertising identifiers to select ads, including ads based on your interests.
On iOS, an app must ask your permission before tracking you across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline that prompt, we and our partners will not use your advertising identifier for cross-app tracking. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, and you can limit personalised advertising in Settings › Privacy & Security › Apple Advertising.
Subscribing to an app that offers an ad-free tier removes advertising from that app.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some privacy laws, including California's, define “sale” and “sharing” broadly enough to include personalised advertising. You can opt out of it using the iOS settings above, which we treat as a valid opt-out request.
When we share information
We share personal information only as described in this policy:
- With the service providers listed above, so they can perform their function for us
- Where required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process
- Where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a lawful government request
- In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. You will be notified by email and/or a prominent notice on this website of any change in ownership or in how your personal information is used, and of any choices you have
- With your consent
How long we keep it, and how to delete it
- Analytics and diagnostic data is retained for up to 14 months, then deleted or aggregated so that it can no longer identify you.
- Support correspondence is retained for up to 24 months after your issue is resolved.
- Purchase and subscription records are retained for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Requesting deletion. Email sepiaapps@gmail.com and tell us which app you used. We will delete the personal information we hold about you and confirm by email, within 30 days. Some records may be retained where the law requires it; if so, we will tell you which and why.
Withdrawing consent. You can turn off push notifications and tracking at any time in iOS Settings, as described above. You can withdraw consent for anything else by emailing us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to opt out of personalised advertising. Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws, including California, have these rights by statute.
To exercise any of them, email sepiaapps@gmail.com. We will not treat you differently for doing so. If you are in the EEA or UK and are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email sepiaapps@gmail.com and we will delete it.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Security
The security of your personal information matters to us, and we follow generally accepted industry standards to protect it in transit and at rest. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will give notice in the app or by email.
